Q: What is Helly Tec recommended knife care?

A: Always keep your knife blade sharp. Dull knives require more force and creates a potentially a dangerous situation. There are several different options available to keep your knife sharp, however chose which one you are most comfortable with. Always keep the internal locking areas of your knife clean and free of dirt or debris accumulation. This accumulation can adversely affect the locking mechanisms and potentially damage the internal components. Helly Tec recommends using compressed air to blow out any lose dirt or debris for maintenance. 

Q: Why does the blade ‘wiggle’ in the handle?

The blade ‘wiggles’ within the housing because of the tolerances needed to allow proper blade movement in and out of the handle. If the blade were to be directly against the handle, then the blade would not move in and out of the handle with out triggering the safety feature and disengaging the blade motion.

Q: Where do the knives get manufactured?

A: We source our parts from USA and overseas vendors. Each knife is hand assembled in our industrial facility in Florida.

 

Q: How long should I expect my warranty return to take?

A: Our current turn-around time for warranty repairs is approximately 2-3 weeks. Please note this is only an estimate NOT a guarantee as to the time it may take for a warranty claim.

 

Q: Will Helly Tec send me replacement parts to repair my knife myself?

A: No, however we are happy to provide you with a return authorization number to send the knife in to us for warranty repair by our in house technicians. For warranty repair authorizations please contact us at Help@HellyTec.com.

 

Q:What is the Helly Tec return policy on products?

A: You may return un-used products in the original packaging within 30 days of purchase for store credit. The term un-used is defined as not fired, tested, or played with in any way. Packaging must not be damaged. Knife will show zero signs of wear or handling. You must have your receipt for return, and contact our customer service department to receive a return authorization number prior to sending items in. For return authorizations please contact us at Help@HellyTec.com. Shipping charges will not be refunded.  Some items incur a 20% restocking fee.

 

Q: What happens if my items are damaged in shipping?

A: If you suspect your items to have been damaged during shipping you must contact our customer service department with-in 24 hours of delivery. For damage in shipping claims please contact us at Help@HellyTec.com.

 

Q: How long after I place my order will my items ship?

A: Most orders ship with-in 2-3 business days of ordering. 2 Day and Overnight Orders placed before 9am est will be shipped out same day. A business day is considered any day Monday-Friday ONLY.
